Year 3 pupils went in search of the Earth's treasures recently when they visited the Natural History Museum in London .
They had the opportunity to explore the Earth Galleries, and discovered the wealth of natural resources that lay under our feet by following a gallery challenge.
Girls were surprised by the huge variety of rocks and minerals, and how they appear in eveyday life.
After lunch, they were able to spend time with the celebrated fossil hunter Mary Anning, who explained her passion for collecting fossils........
........or 'curiosities' as she descibed them, and how they brought her fame and fortune.
The trip ended with a visit to the 'Restless Earth' gallery, where girls found themselves in the middle of the Kobe earthquake of 1995 - luckily just a recreation.
Once back at school, girls were awarded certificates in recognition of their work as either a researcher, scientist or professor!
