Standards of behaviour at RMS are very high. We expect the best of RMS girls and we attach great importance to courtesy and good manners. Girls are expected to show respect for the privileged and beautiful environment in which they live and work.

There are two systems of encouragement. All girls are members of one of four houses: Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz. House points are awarded for community effort, taking part in activities and non-academic achievement. Sports day, Swimming Galas, Performing and Creative Arts Day competitions are all House based.

Merit stars are awarded to individuals for personal academic achievement, effort and progress. Merit badges are awarded as a public recognition that a girl is working hard and making progress. We use positive encouragement and reinforcement rather than negative sanctions.
