RMS is proud to work with Harrow International Schools in Beijing, Bangkok and Hong Kong, and each year a group of Year 9 girls participate in an exchange with one or more of these schools.
During the course of their stay, girls work alongside Harrow students, learning about their language, culture and customs. The girls develop confidence in their ability to communicate effectively with others, and in their capability to learn. They realise the importance of culture when understanding the world and they acquire new skills and adapt to unique situations.
RMS girls are also given the chance to spend a month in Canada through our established exchange programme with Havergal College in Toronto, one of the country's leading girls' schools. In return we are delighted and honoured to welcome their girls here at RMS each year.
An educational experience in a different culture and environment contributes enormously to a girl's quest to broaden and deepen her perspective of the world and its people.
The girls find there are many benefits of exchange programmes, for instance:
- unique and exciting learning experiences
- developing greater self confidence
- learning the ability to adapt to new situations and cultures
- forming relationships with new friends and host families around the world
- visiting places of interest in other countries
